1.Poor Signal and Reception

For something that costs an arm and a leg to use, cell phones sure do have poor reception at times. All cell phone users have had that moment where they try to angle their phone to get a better signal; sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Then there are those instances when you're on an important phone call and the call drops unexpectedly. This is something you never experience with a landline phone, but who wants to be attached to the wall when making a call? Cell phone reception is about as reliable as a car with three good tires in a blizzard.

2.Unsolicited Calls

Mobile phone users are inundated with calls from telemarketers, scam artists and random people who don't know how to dial the right number. Somehow, someway robots obtain the numbers of various mobile users and try to either sell them something or steal their information. And the worse thing about it is that cell phone providers claim they can't do anything about it.

3.Hand Cramps

Texting fanatics can suffer from thumb pain and Tendonitis. Gripping onto a mobile device requires individuals to curl their hands and fingers in difficult positions. If a person is sending 50 or more text messages per day, these awkward hand movements can take its toll on the fingers. Some people can develop dystonia, an abnormal muscle contraction, as a result. Experts suggest putting down the cell phone if numbness in the fingers occurs.

4.Distracting

Mobile Phones are one distracting piece of technology. Students sneak their phones into classrooms and fiddle with them when the teacher isn't looking. So instead of studying Biology, they're studying how to get pass the next level of Angry Birds. Church, business meetings, and weddings are just some of the places where cell phones have gone off; leaving the owner utterly embarrassed and the rest of the room distracted.

5.Limited Attention Span

Cell phones give owners the attention span of a gnat. It boggles the mind how some cell phones don't blow up due to the multiple things owners try to do on them. One minute a person is playing a game, but then a new text comes in so they close out that app and go to their messages. Then they decide that would be the best time to check their e-mail and they forget all about replying to the text they just received. There are so many things to do on a mobile phone that people don't know how to focus on one thing for an extended period of time.

6.Expensive Cell Phones

Mobile phones are just flat out expensive. Cell providers always have a phone on sale; albeit a cheap one that will likely break in a few months. But purchasing the phone isn't the end of the user's expenses. Most cell phone providers will offer unlimited everything for a flat rate of $100 a month. If you do the math, that's $1200 per year for something no bigger than your hand. You can put a down payment on a car with that type of money. Landline phones are not as convenient, but they cost way less than that.

7.Cell Phone Addicts

Several people have a closer relationship with their cell than with actual human beings. With the overabundance of apps, games and features cell phones come with; it's no surprise to see people on their phone constantly. Some folks are so addicted to their phones that they always have to find something to do with it. For some, it's so bad that even with the ringer on vibrate; they'll constantly look at their phone just to see if they have a text message.

8.Damaged Relationships

Mobile phones are the new way to communicate with friends and loved ones. The days of writing letters or even meeting in-person to chat are long gone. These days people spend more time on their phones rather than talking to their significant other. In fact, there are people who will hush or blatantly ignore their loved one when they seek out their attention. Some people go so far as to text their significant other information even though they're sitting less than 10 feet away from them.

Text messages are a quick and easy way to get a message to someone. Unfortunately, people tend to misconstrue the tone and nature of a text message constantly. Sarcastic text messages or unclear jokes can end a solid relationship in a matter of minutes. Always remember to put 'lol' or 'jk' behind jokes. Or better yet, pick up the phone and talk to the person.

It may not seem like it, but the backlight on a cell phone is extremely bright; it can be almost blinding when you're answering those late night text messages in the dark. This coupled with holding your phone too close to your eyes, can put a lot of strain on those peepers. Small fonts and bright colors can also lead to headaches, blurred vision and dry eyes. Experts suggest increasing your phone's font size and turning down the backlight to prevent long-term negative side effects to the eye.

14.Germs

There are probably more germs on a cell phone than on a toilet seat. People will toy with their phone while in the bathroom, on the subway and even while eating. Imagine eating and then answering a text message that just came in. About 20% to 30% of all virus and bacteria from the phone will then be transmitted to your hands and finally into your body. Not many people will remember to disinfect their phones after using it, thereby making them susceptible to germs.
