Blockbuster rental sales probably plummeted after the release of this film. The Ring follows an urban legend that revolves around a video tape. After watching the tape, the viewer receives a phone call telling them they will die in seven days. The movie's whole concept is enough to send shivers down your spine. The killer isn't an axe murderer, instead it's a pale and creepy-looking girl who crawls out the television and kills her victims. The Ring 2, which should have never been made, was released in 2005.
