1.Minnehaha Falls
Minnehaha Falls in Mississippi Park is a sight any time of year, but in winter is absolutely fabulous. Located at the intersection of the Mississippi river and the Minnehaha River, as the temperatures drop and the water freezes everything stops dead in its tracks creating a beautiful piece of art.
2.Plitvice Lakes, Croatia
Lake Croatia is home to Plitvice Lakes, that when frozen look like an oil painting. The trees, frozen solid and covered in snow, are the backdrop and reflection in the frozen blue lake. An artist's dream would be to pain this scene with all its colors and glorious natural beauty.
3.Inside A Wave
If you're not a surfer you've probably never had the chance to be inside of a wave. This is a photograph of a frozen wave curl, stuck in time as it rolls from the ocean and over itself. A spectacular view of the amazing crystals that glimmer with the different colors of blue.
4.Briksdal Glacier
The Briksdal Glacier is part of the largest glacier in Europe, the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. The frozen tundra is an amazing piece of art when looked at from all sides. Gigantic and overwhelming, the ice is clear blue. Beautiful yet menacing, its absolutely breathtaking and something worth seeing if you ever get the chance.
5.Jim Denevan Art On Lake Baikal
Another photo of Lake Baikal, this time with the art work of Jim Denevan, who created these marvelous circles in the ice. Spanning nine square miles, the circles are created using a broom, Denevan is known for having the largest piece of artwork in the Nevada desert, so why not on the largest lake in the world?
6.River Wall
This frozen river wall is a spectacular site against the crystal clear blue/green water. Look how far down it is from the top. All ice and snow, these walls line the curving river as it freezes in spots, creating icebergs. Nature is beautiful when it's untouched and allowed to do its thing.
7.Frozen Wave
Frozen waves can be an amazing site. Just how do they freeze like that? First, you have to have very, very cold conditions that are well below freezing. The wave doesn't just freeze instantly as it mounts, it's a culmination of wave over wave over wave, until it freezes solid.

8.Frozen Spider Web
Spider webs are interesting enough, but frozen takes it to a whole new level. As the ice forms on the delicate strings, it crystalizes and makes the intricate web stand out in all it's glory. We have to wonder how these spiders create such a magnificent display, and if, when their web is frozen, they cannot access it.
9.Salhouse - Frozen hedges
Honeycombe Road in Salhouse is a sight to see, as hedgerows are frozen straight up. Drivers and people walking by stop to take pictures of the odd phenomenon and to gaze at nature doing it's thing. Looking more like a movie set, with fake decorations, these are real and they're fantastic.

10.Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva, Switzerland looks like a winter wonderland as ice forms along the banks and in the trees. Huge icicles form one over the other and over the other until you have what looks like huge claws grabbing down at the water lapping up at the sides. It's quite a site to behold.
11.Abraham Lake
These unique bubble formations in the ice on Abraham Lake are amazingly rare. It seems the plants on the bottom of the lake release methane gas that freezes as it makes its way to the freezing surface. The bubble stack up as more and more methane is released, making a beautiful display.

12.Frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia
Lake Baikal is the deepest and oldest lake in Siberia, Russia. The 25 million year old lake is the world's largest fresh water source. At 2,442 feet deep, it makes up for 20% of the world's supply of water. The beautiful ice crystal formations made on the coldest of days, make for great photography.
