Jaws is the perfect horror flick because it's an everyday fear magnified on the big screen. The concept of Jaws is pretty simple; a killer shark murdering innocent people. There were various setbacks with the film's mechanical shark malfunctioning, which led director Steven Spielberg to only create the presence of a shark in the first film. Composer John Williams' helped bring this idea to fruition by creating a daunting melody that would play whenever a shark was approaching.
