Disney! It is perhaps the most loved children entertainment company ever. Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney founded Disney in 1923. It was only an animation studio back then. The company soon became the most famous cartoon studio in the United States. Disney movies and TV shows were getting so popular that the company decided to cash in on the popularity by building a theme park. Disney built Disneyland in 1955, which then was dubbed as the happiest place on the planet. Today, the $75-billion-worth conglomerate is one of the most successful entertainment companies in the world. 1.Prince Charming
The prince who comes to the rescue of Cinderella in the classic is usually referred to as "Prince Charming," but he never gives his name in the original movie, which means our lovely damsel rushes off with a man whose name she simply doesn't know. Let's hope they get better acquainted on their honeymoon.
2.A Hard Day's Jungle?
In the movie The Jungle Book, the voices of the vultures were originally supposed to be none other than the Beatles. But when the fab four declined the offer, Disney decided to mock the band by giving the vultures a suspiciously familiar look. Note the mop top hair dos and particularly large beak on the bald one (Ringo?)
3.Mickey Mouse Club
While it later became a staple on TV, the Mickey Mouse Club was actually highly popular years before the medium of television existed. In fact, by 1931, only a year after its inception, the club had already surpassed a million members. The adorable Annette Funicello was, of course, everybody's favorite.
4.Disney Dollars
In 1919 as a young animator, Walt Disney earned fifty dollars a month from the Pesmen-Rubin commercial art studio. Today Disney's estate is estimated to have a net worth of five billion dollars - nearly fifty years after his death. If walt were alive he'd be awfully happy with the raise he's gotten.
5.Toy Story Three
With the 2010 release of the Disney/Pixar film Toy Story Three, the studio had come a long way since the days of simple cartoons that featured one or two cartoon characters appearing onscreen. The computer animated movie featured a whopping three hundred and two characters. I'm not sure if I can name more than four.
6.Flowers and Trees
Disney short film Flowers and Trees may not be as well remembered as other animated classics, but it should be. It won Walt Disney his first Academy Award in 1932 and it holds two other important distinctions: it was the first cartoon to be produced in color as well as the first cartoon to win an Oscar.
7.Destino
In 1945 Disney films found an unlikely collaborator in surrealist painter Salvador Dali for a strange project called Destino. With a darker edge than the kind of films audiences were accustomed to from Disney, the project was not exactly rushed to completion. It was released fifty-eight years later.

Peter Pan is one of the Disney's most endearing and successful classics. The first movie of the Disney's Peter Pan franchise was released in 1953. The movie was made based on the children's book, Peter Pan, written by J.M. Barrie. Walt Disney loved Peter Pan story a lot that he wanted it to be his second movie. He couldn't immediately get the rights. He had to wait for a very long time to get control of the Peter Pan's story. The interesting fact is that Walt Disney somehow felt that the Peter Pan character was closely related to him. Walt Disney didn't like the idea of growing up when he was a kid!
9.Going to Disney Land !
Soon after winning the Super Bowl in 1987, quarterback Phil Simms -- prompted and handsomely paid by Disney to do so -- declared "I'm going to Disneyland!" It became a tradition for a player on the winning Super bowl team to make such a proclamation. It's not clear if Simms ever made it to Disneyland, but his team returned to the Super Bowl three years later -- sadly, with a different quarterback at the helm.

10.Disney Land
In 1955 Disney opened a theme park called Disneyland. Maybe you're heard of it. If you haven't, you are very alone. It was once said that the sun never set on the British Empire. This is no longer true of the Brits, but with Disney Parks in Asia, Europe and North America, it is true of Disneyland.
11.Mickey and Minnie
If the adorable rodent couple Mickey and Minnie Mouse seemed to have an especially romantic on-screen chemistry to you, there is a good reason for this. The people who performed their voices -- actors Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor -- were, in real life, a married couple, staying together until Allwine's death in 2009.
12.Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Disney's first feature-length animated film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. In those days, animation was a time-consuming process and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves took three years to complete. But it was worth the wait, becoming the biggest box-office success in Hollywood's history at the time.
13.Mickey Mouse
In 1928 Disney studios came up with a character of a cartoon mouse named Mortimer. His name was later changed to Mickey and with the advent of sound he did something most real-life mice could never quite manage -- he talked. Mickey would later become Disney's most popular character and the world's most charming rodent.
14.First Animations
As an aspiring animator, Walt Disney teamed up with a friend named Fred Harman. The two men did animations they called Laugh-O-Grams and later formed a production company with that name. Was this the beginning of Disney's life as a successful Hollywood mogul? No. The company soon fell into debt and went bankrupt.
15.Young Walt Disney
Walt Disney, the man who later in life entertained millions, came from humble beginnings. He grew up on a farm in Merceline, Missouri and first developed his love for cartoons by drawing pictures of his neighbor's horse. The neighbor was a retired doctor whose nickname was Doc, a name that stuck with young Walt.
