1.San Francisco

There is more to this city than its hills. Instead, it is a city that is full of life and energy and you need that in order to move around. They know how to party, but they are not as full of themselves as some people in Los Angeles, so if you are looking for something a bit more laid back, then this could be the place for you.

2.Turkey

Turkey is an amazing country as it has such a mix of things to do as well as some amazing weather, so you really cannot lose when you go here. At one point you can be beside some ancient ruin, then five minutes later on a great beach topping up your tan and there is also more than enough for the family to do as well.

3.Paris

Paris just has to be the top destination for romantic couples around the world because is there anything better than the Eiffel tower and having a cuddle? This really is the city of love and it is ideal for a weekend break or longer if you are planning on traveling across Europe. Whatever you do in your life make sure you get here at least once.

4.South Africa

South Africa is such a vibrant country as it has such an eclectic mix of cultures and things to see and do that there really is something for everybody. This is a place that gets bad press due to safety issues, but as long as you are not stupid everything will be fine unless you are just exceptionally unlucky.

5.Iceland

Iceland is an interesting holiday destination because it is a bit rough and rugged, but if you like the outdoors and how beautiful nature can be, then this is going to be an amazing destination for you. Do not expect anything too flashy and if you do not go in summer, then expect it to be a bit cold, but it will still be absolutely beautiful.

6.Solomon Islands

These islands are absolutely stunning and you are going to just enjoy sitting back and chilling during your stay there. This may not be the best place for a family to visit, but if it is you and your partner, then think about splashing out and enjoying this piece of paradise.

7.Montenegro

This may not have appeared high on your list, but this part of the former republic of Yugoslavia has certainly done very well in recent years as it seeks to have its own identity as a country. This is a place where you can see a slower pace of life and generally speaking you will find out what life is like in Eastern Europe while still feeling completely safe.

8.Sri Lanka

While a lot of people go to India there are fewer that will venture to Sri Lanka and that really is a shame. This is a country that has done well to recover from its issues in recent years and you will find a country that is steeped in both history and culture and it will certainly be one amazing experience.

9.Fiji

If you are looking for that tropical desert island, then Fiji has to appear on your list of potential holiday destinations. Do not expect to just have party after party here because that is certainly not going to be on your agenda, but instead look at this place as giving you the opportunity to recharge your batteries before going back to the rat race.

10.The Galapagos Islands

If you love animals, then this has to be your idea of paradise. These islands may be quite rough and ready, but overall they are fantastic to visit and you might even manage to do some conservation work as well if you are lucky enough.

11.Amsterdam

Amsterdam has long been one of the best cities for you to go and visit and there is no doubt that even if you can fit in a long weekend here, then you will be better off for the experience. It is safe, friendly, vibrant, and just so much fun and you will probably want to go back again at some point.

12.Brazil

The reason why Brazil is such a good holiday destination is because of the range of options that are available to you. You can go to the beach, the rainforest, see Indians, and just explore the vastness of this country. It is beautiful and vibrant and you will love your stay there.
