3.The Scott Fountain, Belle Isle

At night a soft glow illuminates this beautiful fountain making it an attractive landmark in the city of Detroit. The fountain was donated upon death, by James Scott, who was reported to be rich and lazy as well as a womanizer. He had bequeathed monies to the city of Detroit to erect a fountain in his honor. Honor was arguably something Scott had little of! However, the fountain certainly adds to the scenery of Belle Isle.

4.The Merlion Fountain, Singapore

With the head of a lion and the body of a fish, this fountain symbolizes all that Singapore is. Depicting a 'Sea Lion' the statue is a reminder of Singapore's origins that of a fishing village. Here the statue is photographed at night, showcasing its beauty even more poignantly.

6.The Archibald Fountain, Sydney

One of Sydney's proudest show pieces is the Archibald Fountain. This beautifully artistic and aesthetically pleasing piece of art was donated to the city of Sydney by J F Archibald to show friendship and peace between Australia and France after World War One. Constructed in 1932 it is a prime example of Art Decor at its finest. Archibald himself was a regular if not rich man who loved all things Parisian.

7.The Banpo Bridge Korea

Designed in 1982 this beautiful bridge is also functional as well as a visual delight. The water level of the river is regulated by the bridge and so enables cycle's and passenger vehicles to travel with ease. The water is constantly pumped from the river itself so as to cause no water wastage.
