1.The death Railway - Thailand

death Railway is actually the Burma Railway, a 258 mile track that runs between Bangkok, Thailand and Rangoon, Burma. Ninety thousand workers and sixteen Allied prisoners of war died while building this railway, as the tracks hug the sides of sheer cliffs. The train passes over rickety wooden bridges, scaring passengers along the way.

2.The Landwasser Viaduct - Switzerland

It was difficult for people to travel across the mountainous terrain of Switzerland before the 19th century. The Landwasser Viaduct was built with many bridges and tunnels to allow passage through the mountains. Built in 1902, this railway is a tourist attraction, listed in most travel brochures in the country.

3.Tunnel Of Love - Ukraine

Like a painting, this railway, the Tunnel Of Love, is a one mile section of track through Klevan, Ukraine bringing wood to the fibreboard factory. Three times a day the train makes its way through the green tunnel made up of trees and shrubbery. A great attraction for lovers and photographers. It is said that wishes made, as you pass through, will become reality.

4.Napier Gisborne Railway - New Zealand

New Zealand has some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, with the Napier Gisborne Railway swooshing passengers along for the view. What makes this railway unique is that it runs down the middle of the main runway at the Gisborne Airport, where traffic control has to give it the okay to pass.

5.Tren a las Nubes - Argentina

The Tren a las Nubes is often referred to as the Train To or From The Clouds. Serving northwest of the Chilean border through the Andes Mountains, it connects through the eastern part of the C-14. This rail way is the third highest in elevation in the world at over 13,850 feet above sea level.

6.Outeniqua Choo Tjoe Train - South Africa

As the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe train passes over the Kaalmans Bridge in South Africa, it can be a little tedious for passengers. It seems no one forgets that the railway began with a bang. An accident, shortly after it opened in 1908, threw wood down along the train tracks. Passengers today hold on tightly as the train passes over the bridge.

7.Maeklong Market Railway - Thailand

This amazing railway cuts through the Maeklong, Thailand food market. A strange sight to see as shopkeepers pull up shop, to make room for the train to go through, and then they set up once again. The food market is actually built on the train tracks, packed with vegetables, eggs and fish.

8.Gyeonghwa Station - South Korea

What makes this railway stand out is the 340,000 cherry trees that line the track in Jinhae, South Korea in spring. The falling blossoms almost look like snow as the trains whip by, causing a flurry of beauty. Tourists flock to the Gyeonghwa Station to see the cherry blossoms as the trains make their way through.

9.Georgetown Loop Railboad

Built in 1884, the Georgetown Loop Railroad was ahead of its time with its three foot wide gauge track. As one of Colorado's first attractions, with it's corkscrew route. Rising six hundred feet high, the railway connects Georgetown to Silver Plume through two miles of the steep and narrow mountainous canyon.

10.Argo Gede Train Railroad - Indonesia

This beautiful railway goes through some of the most luscious countryside in the world. Emerald green land for miles until you hit the Cikurutug pylon trestle bridge, as the train swooshes high above the trees. The three hour ride from Jakarta to Bandung gives passengers lots to see in Indonesia.

11.Trans Siberian - Russia

Built in 1891, the Trans-Siberian Railway the longest railway in the world, joining Moscow and the Russian Far East as well as the Sea Of Japan. The rail way was built from two ends, joining in the middle and has been delivering passengers from Moscow to Vladiovostock since 1916. The railway is still growing.

12.Kuranda Scenic Railway - Australia

This beautiful railway has been around since the late 1800's, and is still chugging along the rain forest in Australia. Curving routes through the breathtaking countryside, make this one of the top railways in the world. The colorful cars are like no other and are a perfect match for the varying colors of the scenery that it passes by.
