In 1982, two teenagers broke into her apartment with knives and raped her. One of the two boys was just 15 years old. Kelly couldn't get over the rape incident for a very long time. She said she used to drink every night to forget the assault, and became an alcoholic in the process. The incident made her gradually move away from Hollywood.
