Most laptops come with a standard WiFi 802.11n which operates on two frequencies. Check the GHz on the WiFi, which supports 2.4 GHz up to 5 GHz. The lower GHz has more interference from neighbors but has a greater range. It also has less speed. So take that all into consideration.

4.Ports

Check the number of ports on the laptop that you are considering for purchase. Two USB ports should be the minimum available, three or four is even better. A lot of laptops are coming with the Ethernet port, which means you can only use WiFi, so make sure that is an option for you.

If you're a gamer you will want to choose a laptop with HD Graphic capability. Core i3 processors and higher are recommended, and a separate GPU with at least 1GB of RAM. Buying the fastest processor you can afford has always been thought to be the best way to choose, but there is a lot more to it nowadays. Not all GHz are created equal, and you need to take into account how many cores you need. Most people prefer a dual core.

Another important consideration is the size and weight of your new laptop. Depending on what you plan to do with it, this can be an important decision.
