Even this imagine is scary to look at, so you can only imagine how scary the actual movie is going to be. It is gruesome, it is in your face, and ultimately it is about some of the scariest vampires you have ever encountered making this essential viewing for people that just cannot get enough of this genre.

2.Once Bitten

This is a great comedy vampire movie and it just shows that they do not have to be scary or serious. Jim Carrey is his usual self in it and you will undoubtedly have a few laughs, but do just remember that it is not meant to be a full on vampire movie.

3.The Lost Boys

This was one of the biggest movies of the 80s with a stellar cast and a storyline that just kept on giving back to you throughout the movie. Kiefer Sutherland is excellent in the movie and if you have never watched this, then you are missing out and you need to rectify it immediately.

4.Interview with the Vampire

This movie was a huge hit when it came out in the 90s and indeed it also had a few critics as well due to the way it portrayed vampires. It is classical in nature, the characters are very involved, and there are a lot of good performances in there, so do check it out.

5.The Hunger

OK this is a bit of a cheat since it was more a TV series rather than a movie, but the episodes have been combined into a big long movie. The story itself may stretch itself a bit far, but overall it is going to keep hold of your attention for as long as possible and is not too bad to watch.

6.From Dusk till Dawn

This is a vampire movie with the Quentin Tarantino twist and there is no doubting his influence when you sit down and watch it. It is violent, it is about blood, but ultimately it is an enjoyable watch and is a great way to spend a couple of hours of your time.

7.Twilight Series

This is a massive, massive series and the movies are actually not too bad for vampire movies. The characters themselves are pretty good and you will also quite enjoy the storyline as well, which is always a bonus, so do yourself a favor and watch all of them one after the other.

8.Fright Night

This is one hell of a good thriller and it will manage to keep those hairs on the back of your neck standing up throughout the entire movie. It has twists, it has turns, it has some mayhem thrown in there as well and basically you should not end up being bored by this movie.

9.Dracula (1931)

If you are going to watch a movie about a vampire, then you have to sit down and watch the original blockbuster. Yes it is in black and white and with no special effects, but it manages to make itself quite creepy and you can see why it was so popular decades ago.

10.Daybreakers

This is a seriously cool vampire movie because it is about more than just a trail of destruction. This is certainly a vampire movie with a few twists and turns and it is certainly something you should watch even if you are not a fan of this genre.

11.Buffy the Vampire Slayer

People are probably more aware of the tv series, but there was also a movie and it was quite good. This is probably the kind of story that introduced so many teenagers to the idea of vampires and it is good family fun even though it deals with a scary subject.

12.Bram Stokers Dracula

This was a modern take on the old classic and you have to say that Francis Ford Coppola has done a fantastic job. It is scary, it is fast moving, and it sticks to the traditional storyline, which is always a good idea when you are dealing with a classic.
