13.The 't' is Silent in Voldemort

We bet many Harry Potter fans from all parts of the world may be pronouncing the Voldemort's name wrong. The letter 'T' in the name is silent, so the actual pronunciation is Voldemor. The name Voldemort means 'theft of death' in French.
As you might have known already, Lord Voldemort's original name is Tom Marvolo Riddle. He later changed his name to Lord Voldemort in an attempt to hide his half-blood heritage. The name Tom Marvolo Riddle is anagram to 'I am Lord Voldemort'. Well, no one except J.K. Rowling pronounces Voldemort as Voldemor, though!

Harry Potter titles are so long, that it's hard to keep them straight. The original title of the first book was titled "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"and that name appeared on books in Canada, Australia and the UK. The name was changed to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by an American publisher because the word "Sorcerer's" appeared more marketable and exciting.
