1.Transverse Lobe Piercing
Transverse lobe piercing involves two punctures at the very bottom of the earlobe. A long earing with a stud or gem on each end is inserted into one hole and out the other. Popular with teens and with boys/men, this trendy piercing has grown in popularity in recent years.
2.Earlobe Gauging
Earlobe gauging is one of the more trendy pierciings, which involves stretching out the earlobe with bigger and bigger studs or gems. Popular with teens, particularly teen boys, there is a big risk of tearing the earlobe, if proper care is not taken. Dermal punching helps stretch the earlobe to fit larger studs, or gems, right away.
3.Industrial Piercing
The Industrial piercing is a trendy and highly noticeable piercing, that is also referred to as Scaffold piercing. Involving two punctures, the piercing occurs on the very top cartilage of the outer ear. A single, long piece of jewlery, such as an arrow, is used to enter one hole and exit the other.
4.Anti Tragus Piercing
Located adjacent to the Tragus piercing is the Anti Tragus piercing, which sits in the protruding outer ridge of the cartilage on the bottom of the ear opening. An adventurous piercing, it has a unique style that catches the eye. One of the more painful piercings, it can be prone to infection, so proper care must be taken.
5.Tragus Piercing
The Tragus piercing is located on the little piece of cartilage located at the openign of the ear. Because it is farily thick, a small gauge needle is used to penetrate enough to insert the jewelry. Typically a bead or thin circular wire rings are worn. This type of piercing can become irritated, so care must be used when wearing headphones, particularly when first pierced.
6.Rook Piercing
Considered the most painful and difficul piercings, the Rook piercing is very stylish and trendy. Located in the folded cartilage separating the inner and outer conch of the ear, the earring used is typically double studded. Sitting delicately in the fold, the Rook is vulnerable to tearing, and for some people who do not have this fold, the piercing is not even possible.
7.Daith Piercing
Located just above the ear canal opening in the inner ear cartilage is the sweet spot for a Daith piercing. Using a curved needle with a receive tube on the opposite side the technician carely penetrates the cartilage, careful not to damage the ear. Typically small bead rings are used with this type of piercing.

8.Conch Piercing
The Conch piercing has picked up in popularity recently. It involves multiple piercings on the outer conch, located at the outside edge of the ears cartilage center. A more complex piercing of the Conch involves piercing the inner, more center part of the ear cartilage. Gem studs are typically worn with this type of piercing.
9.Anti Helix Piercing
The Anti Helix piercing is just that ... anti helix. It's the opposite of the Helix piercing is also referred to as a Snug piercing, and is located on the cartilage on the inner ear rim, where the vertical fold is. Typically curved ball bearing jewelry is used, as well as circular rings.

10.Helix Piercing
Helix piercing can be very elegant when studs are involved,or very trendy, punk when loops are used. It involves multiple piercings in the upper ear, on the inside of the outer rim. Popularity of this type of piercing has risen in the last decade, and there is an array of earring created specifically for the helix piercing.
11.Traditional Lobe Piercing
Traditional ear lobe piercing is the most popular of all the ear piercing, and the most conventional. Located at the bottom of the earlobe, it is the least painful ear piercing with no cartlidge being broken. Most women today have pierced ears, and where it used to be that girls waited until they were teenagers to pierce their ears, now some mothers are piercing their baby's ears in infancy.
