Edinburgh Zoo was founded in 1909 and opened in 1913. Owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, the sloping parkland spans 82 acres located three miles west of Edinburgh. With over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, visitors are able to see the wonder of living animals as well as the conservation of threatened species.
