Celebrities are known for their beautiful physical appearance. Although looking beautiful isn't the only requirement to become a top actor or actress, it certainly does help. Celebrities are humans like us too, and they aren't completely flawless. Some of us have scars on our bodies, which, in most cases is the result of an injury. Celebs have those scars too. We may not observe those scars because we don't see them in real life, from a closer distance. Check these 12 popular celebrities with scars. 

Sandra Bullock has a scar near her eye. It is barely noticeable, though. She has acted in several action films, but she never hurt herself while filming risky scenes. When she was a child, she was jumping from one rock to another at the creek when she slipped and fell. The fall caused an injury near her eye, which later became a scar. 

In her movies and photos, the scar is hardly visible. It isn't clearly visible because it is just at the corner of her left eye. Her makeup and bit of photo editing (professional shoots) hide the scar. As you know, celebs hire highly professional and experienced makeup artists.

Harrison Ford has a noticeable scar on his chin. It does look like an age-related wrinkle, but it was indeed a scar that was formed because of a road accident.  He got his prominent chin scar back in 1964 when the actor's car hit a telephone pole near Laguna Beach, California. 

He was badly injured in the accident, suffering from multiple injuries including one on his chin. Harrison Ford said he was bleeding badly when the incident took place. There was no one nearby to help him. He called for help, but the paramedics couldn't reach the place on time, leaving him bleeding on the road for hours. Luckily for Ford, a man saw the actor, and drove him to the nearest hospital. 

Joaquin Phoenix is an American actor who is known for playing Commodus role in the Gladiator (2000) film. Joaquin Phoenix has a visible scar on his lips. At first, people thought that the star once had cleft lip. As you may know, cleft lip is a condition in which newborn babies have an unusual split in their upper lip, exposing gums and inner mouth palette. One in every 600 children born in the United States has some form of a cleft lip. 

Joaquin Phoenix, however, wasn't born with cleft lip but born with a similar condition called microform cleft. The scar developed when he was in his mother's womb. His scar is clearly visible because he's not one of those actors who don't grow facial hair and mustache. 

Mary J. Blige is a multi-talented American celebrity who is skilled in fields like singing, songwriting, modeling, acting, and record producing. Mary J. Blige has had a rough life and she has the scar to prove it. 

The singer is often seen wearing make-up, but the beauty enhancer is not able to cover up the scar underneath her left eye. If you see her pictures, you will notice that the 45-year-old singer doesn't always pose for camera with a straight face.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is a beautiful actress. As beautiful as Catherine Zeta-Jones is, she's not above having flaws. She has a distinct scar on her neck. The scar was there on her neck from her childhood days. The scar isn't visible unless you specifically look for it. 

When Zeta-Jones was a child, she had to have a tracheotomy to improve breathing problems she was having due to an illness.
