1.That's Definitely Not a Great Experience
An elderly woman died three seats over from me after 1 hour into a 7 hour flight.

2.Worst Family Vacation Ever
My parents got into a huge fight and decided they wanted a divorce on the second day of a weeklong vacation at Disney world. It was the most awful week of my life.

3.A Big Nope!
The trip was great for me, and everyone else involved until the end. Went to Jamaica with a 40+ person wedding party. When we got back to the states people started texting in circles that everyone had HOOK WORMS in their feet and legs. Only about 5 people didn't get them and I was one of the lucky few. Some people had the hook worms travel all the way to their knees.

4.Surprise, Surprise!
Got stuck in a soccer riot in Greece. We were in Thessaloniki and just walking about when out of nowhere we see a police motorcade full of motorcycles and horses. We thought it must be some sort of festival or parade or something because a crowd was drawing. Eventually we heard singing coming down the block and hundreds of hooligans were marching toward the police. Once we realized what was going on we tried to leave but shit already started to go down. In trying to escape we got hit with tear gas from the police and found shelter in a random apt building. That one, while terrifying in the moment is one of my favorite memories looking back.

5.Oh Snap!
I work at a military school. This experience happened to one of my students: One August, his parents told him to pack enough clothes for a two-week vacation in the Bahamas. They would be flying out the next day.
Instead, they flew with him to military boarding school, where he was enrolled, in-processed, and had his head shaved. He stayed through the school year.
Insult to injury: His parents continued on to the Bahamas without him.

6.What are You Doing There, Mushroom?
Well, we arrived at our hotel in France... the room was amazing just until entering the toilet... There was a giant mushroom growing out the side of the sink.

7.Most Horrible Travel Experience Indeed
Was taking a bus from Newcastle to London. We hadn't even rolled out of the station before some dude goes for a dump and breaks the toilet causing the smell of poo to spread through bus for the next 6 or 7 hours.

When my dad and i were in the bahamas he was in the shower and i was in the other room(he didn't knew I was in the room), and i heard him have a massive orgasm which wasn't that terrible until I found out he was with a hooker.

10.That Was One Long and Tiresome Journey
Flew to South Korea on business. I had been there once before with a group of coworkers, but this time I flew alone. It's a hell of a long trip and I can't sleep sitting up. Bone tired, I arrive in Seoul, knowing that there is a 3 hour car ride ahead of me. I arrive at my destination dead on my feet, but there was no one there expecting me. I had no room, and since the next day was a holiday, the guy who was supposed to have everything arranged for me was gone on vacation. There I was late at night, unable to speak the language, and my contact unavailable. Fuck this.

I got quarantined in Estonia for swine flu. No one spoke English and they shoved something up my nose so far I think it touched my brain.

12.Middle East Problems
Went to visit my family in Lebanon in the summer of 2006, then the war broke out. Tried to escape through Syria but the roads were already destroyed so we just escaped to Eastern Lebanon and hid out there for a while and watched as different parts of the country were being bombed. The scariest part is going to bed and not knowing if you're going to wake up in the morning.

I was projectile vomited on by an infant on a flight from Toronto to Ecuador. The mother didn't even blink, handing me a baby wipe without so much as an apology. Travel tip: always carry garbage bags in your suitcase. You never know when they could come in handy!

14.They Lost Everything
My friend worked for the airline and 3 of us went to Punta Cana for the weekend. Friday night was good no problems aside from friend getting obliterated, Saturday night we were extorted by the dealer at the casino and spent the night in a tiny crack room while our bank accounts were being drained and all our phones/cash was stolen. We had to have someone wire us money and it was just a shit experience.

15.When Chickens Attack!
Once was travelling through Bangladesh while working out there for a project and it was a really hot day. My colleague booked us a car but I woke up late so had to take a bus to a town 3 hours over. Waited for bus, took it and ended up next to a chicken farmer, with cages full of angry chickens. They attacked us. Left me with cuts on my arms and chest.
