1.Arnold Jackson
If the name is unfamiliar, then all we have to do is mention the little guy in Different Strokes and you know exactly who he is. He may have been small, but he certainly made a big impression even if we do end up forgetting his name a lot.
2.Phillip Banks
This was the father in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and he was certainly larger than life. He may have been a successful judge, but the way he viewed life certainly made him very funny indeed.
3.Carl Winslow
This was another character in Family Matters and played a key role in the series as he was often the one that would be wound up by Steve Urkel. He was certainly somebody that was well worth watching especially with the way that he was seen as being so clumsy.
4.JJ Evans
This character appeared in Good Times and he was seen as being slightly cheeky and open to bending the rules a bit. His character was actually seen as being slightly controversial at times, but we loved him anyway.
5.Steve Urkel
When it comes to funny characters, then Steve Urkel is certainly one that most people will then comment on. He does of course appear in Family Matters and considering he was originally lined up for just one episode he ended up doing pretty well for himself. He is the classic nerd and it is this geekyness that appeals to people.
6.Bernie Mac McCullough
Big Bernie was undoubtedly a character that we all knew and loved when he appeared in The Bernie Mac Show from 2001 to 2006. It did of course have to end after Bernie Mac himself died in 2008, but we still enjoyed him talking directly to us down the camera.
7.Fred G Sanford
This character appeared in Sanford and Son, which ran from 1972 to 1977. He was an antiques and general junk dealer who was also quite prejudiced making for some rather interesting ideas as to how the world worked.

Carlton Banks was the spoilt and rather stupid rich kid in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and without him the show would have been rather pointless. He was funny due to the way he viewed the world and he way he was rather childish about pretty much everything.
11.George Jefferson
This character was in the TV sitcom All in the Family and he was rather funny to say the least. He then appeared in the spinoff show The Jeffersons which ran from 1975 to 1985.
