A student-teacher relationship is one of the most respectable and greatest human relationships. A teacher is someone who shows us the real world. He or she guides us toward knowledge and wisdom and helps us shape our careers. Most of us respect our teachers the way how we respect our parents. Most teachers are good human beings. The bad ones are not uncommon, though. Some teachers abuse their teacher privileges by having illegal sexual affairs with students. Here are fifteen such female teachers who slept with their underage male (and female) students, and went to prison.

1.Mary Kay Letourneau

Mary Kay met her victim when he was just 12 years old. When she finally got busted she served her prison sentence got out and was found having sex with him in a car. She was marched back to jail. Why in the car? Could she not have tried at least to hide her filthy crime? The pair are still together today and are married. 

2.Pamela Smart

Pamela Smart not only had an affair with her pupil but allegedly got him to murder her then husband. She denied these allegations saying that the boy killed her husband because he was jealous and she wanted to end it. She is still imprisoned serving a life sentence as an accomplice to murder.

3.Christine Scarlett

Scarlett not only had a long term affair with a hearing and learning disabled student of 17, but also had his child. He eventually reported her to the police. A tearful Scarlett in court is shown here.

4.Christine McCallum

McCallum used alcohol and marijuana to rape her 13 year old male victim and his brother over a near two year period. The 13 year old victim told the court that he and McCallum had sex over 300 times in the two year period he knew her.

5.Stacy Schuler

Schuler lured five boys into her apartment and plied them with drugs and alcohol. She then spent many hours in various sexual acts with them including kitchen table sex and group sex. The 33 year old woman pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The judge commented that he did not see her as insane at all, however she did have a drug and alcohol problem. She was sentenced to 48 months in prison.

6.Jaymee Wallace

Jayme Wallace was a math instructor at Wharton High School, Tampa, Florida. The 28-year-old teacher was arrested in 2005 for having a lesbian affair with a 15-year-old girl. She found the girl attractive and started writing letters to her, appreciating her beauty. Jaymee got control of the girl when the minor said she was confused about her sexuality. Their friendship soon turned into a sexual affair as two of them had sex on more than 50 occasions in a span of 18 months. In 2007, after a series of trials, she was sentenced to 3 years in prison. The judge also asked the authorities to register her as a sexual offender for life. 

7.Helen Goddard

Helen Goddard was a music teacher at a girls-only public school in the United Kingdom. In 2006, she was sentenced to 15 months in prison for having a lesbian affair with one of her underage students. The five-month sexual relationship between the two began when Goddard asked the minor girl to stay in her flat overnight after telling her a bunch of lies. It was then the 36-year-old woman lured the girl into having sex with her. The teacher even took the girl to Paris for a weekend to participate in a gay parade! The minor girl told the judge that her relationship with Helen Goddard was consensual, but the confession didn't help Helen Goddard. She had to spend time in prison since the girl was a minor. In addition to the jail time, she was also registered as a sex offender.

8.Lisa Robyn Marinelli

Lisa Robyn Marinelli was a substitute teacher at the Mitchell High School, New Port Richey, Florida. In 2008, the 48-year-old mother of two met a 16-year-old boy while she was searching for potential suitors for her 15-year-old daughter. However, the teacher developed a special interest in the lad and lured him into having sex with her. They slept together multiple times in a span of six months at the woman's home as well as in her car. Lisa's family members and friends backed her saying that she's a kind-hearted person, and she's not the kind of woman who sleeps with a teenage boy. Her husband and mother-in-law supported her as well. However, Lisa's text messages and call records proved that she indeed had a sexual affair with the 16-year-old. She was arrested and sentenced to 2 years in prison.

9.Sandra Beth Geisel

Sandra Beth Geisel was a New York-based teacher at a Catholic School. The 42-year-old woman was sentenced to six months in prison for sleeping with one of her underage male students. The woman had sex with a 16-year-old boy twice. They suspected that the number of victims to be high, but no one except the minor boy came forward to reveal the affair. The judge declared that the sexual relationship didn't traumatize the 16-year-old and the teenager misunderstood personal attention and affection. Since he's an underage boy, the judiciary concluded the relationship as 'statutory rape' and asked Beth to spend time in jail.

10.Debra LaFave

Debra Lafave was a Florida-based teacher when she was arrested in 2004 for having a sexual affair with her 14-year-old male student. The inappropriate relationship became public when the boy's aunt saw him hanging out with Debra on more than one occasion. She alerted the boy's mother over the possible lewd relationship. After intense questioning by the mother, the 14-year-old admitted to having a sexual relationship with his teacher, Debra Lafave. This particular case received a lot of media attention, forcing the boy's mother to come to an agreement with Debra so that the child's identity is safe. According to the agreement, Debra would receive three years of house arrest and sexual offender registration as punishment. She is now free from all the charges and living a happily married life.

11.Carrie McCandless

Carrie McCandless was a cheerleading teacher at a Brighton-based school. She was arrested in 2011 on sexual assault charges. She slept with her 17-year-old male student at a school's night camping event. She was accused of supplying alcohol to the male students on the evening. She reportedly had sex with the boy, in proximity to the other boys. She was sentenced to 45 days in prison and registered as a sexual offender for life. She was previously arrested on a couple of occasions on the charges of illegal drug possession and driving under the influence.

12.Hope Jacoby

Hope Jacoby was a 23-year-old athletic trainer at Tustin High School, California, when she was arrested in 2008 for having a sexual relationship with a minor boy. Hope Jacoby had an illegal sexual affair with an unnamed boy who was said to be between 14 and 17 years old. The affair continued for over one year. She was arrested by police when some unknown person alerted them after they saw a picture of Hope Jacoby giving oral sex to the boy, on the boy's phone.  She was arrested but was released a couple of weeks later on a $100,000 bail. Although the affair was consensual, it was illegal as the boy was still a minor at that time.

Cameo Patch, A 29-year-old, Substitute teacher at Tooele High School was arrested in January 2006 on charges of Unlawful sexual conduct with a 17-year-old. She reportedly took the 17-year-old boy on a date and then later had oral sex with him, She received probation for 36 months, and was ordered to obtain a psycho-sexual evaluation, as well as pay a $2,000 fine. She got divorced after the incident and has three children.

15.Christina Busby

Christina Busby, 33, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student at Faith Academy in Alabama. She was found guilty after the boy's mother found several inappropriate texts between the two on his phone. The minor involved was not her student at that time, but she worked at the same school he was studying.
